I doubt if a restrictive diet will give you all the nutrients your body needs. Sticking to one or a few type of food for a long time is not an assurance that the diet programme will be effective. Restrictive diet could mean cutting out on food that would have provided you with the most important nutrients. They are popular but results show that they tend to produce unrealistic results because of the restrictions.

There are circumstances in which you might be advised to abstain from certain food due to medical reasons. An example could be to avoid eggs due to an allergy, if this is not the case you have no reason whatsoever to omit a particle food from your diet. If you decide to avoid any particular food for whatever reason, then you need to ensure that you replace this food with something else. An example will be if you stop consuming meat, then this will need to be replaced with something else that will be helpful.

Some protein rich food that you can replace the meat with are fish or chicken, if you decide to stop drinking normal milk, then it will be a nice idea to replace it with calcium fortified soya milk. You need to be aware that because you are allowed to include all types of food in your diet doesn’t mean that you take things overboard. This part can be really tempting because you could easily get carried away and overstep your boundaries. Ensure to reduce the consumption of GI foods or food that has too much fat.

There are some programmes that will instruct you to only focus on organic food or you should avoid any packaged food. These types of diet could be costly and time-consuming, which could be a turn off and which means that you’re most likely not going to stick to the strict rules. There is no evidence that shows that organic food alone is the best food for dieting. Experts say that chemicals that are used to treat crops or package materials have been tested and deemed safe at the level that most people consume. On the other hand, if you’re able to afford organic food, just make sure you’re able to stick to the strict rules.

Sticking to organic food is not necessarily a problem as long as you know that you’re able to see it through. It’s quite discouraging if you start a dieting programme and not being able to make headway. In conclusion dieting might be something you have to live with for the rest of your life. This is the major reason to give it a full consideration before making a decision.
