  • Kidneys
  • Liver

The build-up in the body will lead to chemical imbalance acids and result in a condition called acidosis. If the levels of ketones in the body get to dangerous proportions, you could slip into a coma which could lead to death. This is most likely going to happen if you are diabetic. Another horrible thing regarding the accumulation of ketones in your body is to leave you with unpleasant body odour and bad breath. High levels of ketones in the body could lead to loss of muscle tissue as well as fat, in other words lower consumption of carbohydrate in your body versus the higher consumption of protein will lead to more protein being stored in the body because you’re burning protein food as fuel.
